Checking Engine coolant in a used Land Rover

Most people do not realize that keeping coolant in used Land Rover is very important. Actually on top of keeping the coolant filled, you will need to change it out every two years.  When it is time to change the coolant in your vehicle you will want to read your manual to find out what type of coolant you will need to use.  Going to an auto parts store is the best place to go to buy your coolant so you can get help if needed.
When you are changing the coolant in a used Land Rover, you need a coolant catch pan and an empty container to mix your coolant and water. If you do not want to go through that process then you can buy the 50/50 coolant, which is pre- mixed for you.  You need to make sure that the car is cool before taking any steps to changing the coolant. The steps on changing the coolant may seem like a long process and if it is your first time, it will be longer than usual to change the coolant.
Draining the old coolant is the first step you need to take to changing the coolant. Open your radiator cap place the catch pan under your radiator and removes the drain plug on the bottom of your radiator. When completely drained put the plug back in and start your used Land Rover. Let it run until air bubbles are burped out. Turn the car off and fill the radiator to the top with coolant.
